TechRepublican vs. TechConservative?

Given the increasing divide between Republicans and conservatives--between those who want to harness government for right-wing goals and those who want to curb its growth--I'm curious why the name of this site isn't techConservative?

tR v. tC

I had that same conversation with a close friend who I now believe owns tC.

What the Republican Party and the conservative movement needs is more people that claim to actually be a "Republican," or will at least work toward helping to elect Republicans.

I'm one of those people, and I'm proud of it.

TechRepublican vs. TechConservative

Huh? What the Republican Party needs is not people who merely call themselves Republicans but those who actually believe in Republican principles, like limited government and a market economy and fiscal restraint.

I'm with Jonathan...

on this one.

We have plenty of people who claim to be Republicans and then promptly ignore the principles they claimed to have held and behave like Democrats... I have yet to figure out why.

Personally, it's hard to feel much sorrow for some of those who lost on the last cycle. Some of them deserved it, they didn't do what they were elected to do but others were just caught in the crossfire.

If I was a Democrat, who should I vote for? a) The Rep who votes like I want or b) the Dem who votes like I want.

Ingredients to build the movement: + and x, not - and /

I was talking with Robert Bluey at lunch today and he said something wise so I'm going to steal it and use it here: To build the movement, we need to add + multiply, not divide and subtract.

techRepublican will be a place for all Republicans to find out good tactics, tips, etc.

At the end of the day, it's us versus them. We're in this boat together.

The name IS inapt, but for a different reason

Read every post on this site. Preserving Republican power is their only concern. No discussion of what is right or good for the country, only what will keep Republicans in power. It's the 'tech' part I'm confused by; where has this site demonstrated any tech savvy at all? It's empty buzz words and typos as far as the eye can see.

Thanks anonymous!

I hope you're not too upset that the Republican Party may be catching up with your party online...

Don't blink, you may miss it.

BUT THEY HAVE TWITTER ACCOUNTS!!!!

It's SO NEW!

Anytime

Oh, I'm not upset about Republicans "catching up online". I'm upset that they're destroying the country, including the military, the economy, our civil liberties, the justice department, the environment, and our standing in the world.
But good luck with your wiki-network-synergy2.0 thing. Looks like a moneymaker.

Alternatives

There is a huge issue about alternate paradigms within the GOP that has to be hashed out, between the Rockefeller and Goldwater extremes. One of the main reasons we must reconcile ourselves on common ground is because of how dangerous for the nation the other party's cognitive dissonance shows itself to be again and again. They seem to live in a bizarro world where they can call Republicans Nazis while they do all they can to actually stiffle free speech in education and media. They call Republicans racists while they actually play the race card at every occasion. They call Republicans war-mongers while actually it has always been Democrats and progressive heros (Lincoln, Teddy R., Wilson, FDR, Truman, Kennedy, Johnson) who have led ALL of America's wars, and rounded up foreign nationals, put them in camps, arrested journalists and politicians who disagreed with them, and dropped atomic bombs. They accuse Republicans of election-rigging while they actually do all they can to muster illegal voters. They hate capitalism but love millionaire "activist" celebrities, millionaire dictators, and BJ and the gang raking in millions for speaking and consulting fees. A strategy of confusion and deception fit for Lenin or Machiavelli.

Yes, let's get out act together.

I can live with a typo or

I can live with a typo or two in this context!

Here's a Slightly New Innovation for GOP Websites

What do you think about this website as an example of using the internet for Republican politics?

My name is Leonard Shushan and I live in the Kitchener/Waterloo region of Canada. This area is considered Silicon Valley north. It was recently named by Intelligent Community Forum as their “Intelligent Community of the year” for 2007. Research in Motion has their headquarters and research labs here. I get exposed to a lot of new technology and occasionally I come across software that has very practical applications.

I was recently introduced to Igloo Software it is a communications and information sharing platform that is what Microsoft’s SharePoint should have been. It was originally used by the research and not for profit community for research communities to have a platform that would allow collaboration and a sharing of ideas. It then morphed into a business application. I am not employed by the company in any capacity I just see it as a very effective tool for keeping a large and geographically diverse political campaign connected. Can you please let me know who evaluates new software for their campaign.

Kind Regards

Leonard Shushan
