On July 13, TechRepublican reported that two new YouTube videos had surfaced by the anonymous YouTube user, abrad2345.

Within hours of our July 13 posting, we were emailed a link to a liberal blog, the daily background, which made an assertion that the creator of the ads worked for the Republican media firm, Stevens, Reed, Curcio & Potholm (SRCP).

Today, I was contacted by a source at SRCP who said:

...The thing is complete BS. That person and the account is not my firm's employee (it's a fake). We're trying to figure out who created the account and myspace page. Lawyers are involved. It's disgusting.

In fact, according to the update on the daily background's blog, lawyers representing SRCP have asked the blogger to immediately take down the information:

I have been contacted by a legal firm representing Stevens, Reed, Curcio & Potholm regarding this post. They have told me that the assertions made in the post below are false, and that SRCP has no connection to any of the YouTube videos posted under the username abrad2345, and that their employee, Amy Bradford, has nothing to do with this as well. I want to personally stress that I have no concrete evidence whatsoever that suggests that either SRCP or Ms Bradford is in any way connected to the matter regarding these YouTube videos, and that any wording in the piece below which suggests that I do have such evidence is not correct. In the sake of openness and transparency, I have opted, for the moment, to leave the post below intact, but please remember that I cannot vouch for the authenticity of the claims made in it. In fact, I suggest if you do choose to read it, you should treat it as something which has been debunked. I expect to write about this matter later with a more full explanation of what is going on, but for now, please take this disclaimer into account.

This is interesting enough, but today, the plot thickens...

A new video has surfaced which was uploaded on July 12. However, this video was not available until recently, which likely means that the video was set to "private" until today.

The latest video: Rudy Giuliani - No War Hero.

One thing is clear to TechRepublican, YouTube user abrad2345 is NOT affiliated with SRCP.

But the question remains: Who is YouTube user abrad2345?

UPDATE 8:54 PM ET: Jim Geraghty of NRO has this to say:

Folks, there's a lefty behind this, I'd bet, considering the closing statement, "Anybody who ended up a war should be excluded [from the presidential race]... Smart guy stays home... like our current president and vice president."

UPDATE July 17, 9:06 AM: The daily background thinks he was swindled by a tipster named Carlson writing:

I made some mistakes- perhaps most importantly not being more skeptical of a source who in hindsight seemed to have all the right information at all the right times. If indeed it turns out that I’ve been taken for a ride by the person who was helping me with the research, then it certainly wouldn’t be the first time that a reporter– or even a lowly blogger– was taken advantage of.
