RNC Chairman Michael Steele Uses YouTube to Deliver Weekly Republican Address

Scrolling through my inbox, I noticed an email from the Republican National Committee alerting me that RNC Chairman Michael Steele had delivered his first weekly address.

In the email were the transcript of the weekly address along with a link to download the MP3 and, importantly, a YouTube video.

Of note, this isn't the first weekly Republican address to make it to YouTube (see House Republican Leader John Boehner's address from January 23); however, it's a clear sign that Michael Steele will continue to use YouTube as an appropriate medium to provide a conservative alternative to Barack Obama's weekly address.

Delivering the Republican address on YouTube helps counter Barack Obama's message effectively because it gives bloggers (ahem!) and online news outlets easy-to-use content. For an example beyond this post, check out this USA Today blog post pairing the two perfectly.

Bravo Chairman Steele! The renewal of the Republican Party has officially started.
