It does indeed exist. And it's growing, fast.
In case you missed the event, Kristen Soltis over at the Washington Planner has the essential write-up on the event. A key quote:
More than just a networking event to discuss Twitter and sip cocktails, the TechRepublican.com party was a distinctly young, fun, and friendly affair of like minded young social professionals. Despite the weather, the TechRepublican.com team assembled a fantastic crowd and put on an event that has set the standard for the emerging Republican tech scene.
@Chris_Anderson has pics of the event in his flickr account. Naturally, they're also in his Facebook album. (Hopefully I can sponsor Chris to be the *modern* TechRepublican photog from now on.)
I've got a few more pics in my flickr account including this sweet pic of DJ Gindy mixing it up:

All in all, a great event.
Now, a tip of the hat to a number of people who helped make this event happen and continue to help drive the ball forward for the TechRepublican community.
THANK YOU TIME
First and foremost, a big thank you to all of the sponsors of the first-of-many TechRepublican Events: Google, DAG, The Leadership Institute, Americans For Prosperity, and Americans for Tax Reform. You all trusted me with your dime and I'm sure you'd agree you got a good return on your investment. Natch.
Second, I want to thank all of the hosts who helped turn-out a solid mix of technologist A-listers. A few were missed (though invited), but that's to be expected when it's pouring rain or have prior obligations.
Third, to the boys at the Rookery, thanks guys. And a special hat-tip for the bottle of bubbly to help accompany a great dinner after the event.
Fourth, DJ Gindy's tunes helped mix the scene. His blend of tracks from Radiohead to Phil Collins were great. He even took it way back past the stale, over-played '80s with the decades old Runaround Sue, King of the Road, and New York, New York (with mashed up Biggie lyrics). Solid sesh Gindy.
And I'd be remiss not to thank TechRepublican editor Joe Mansour, and the DAG interns, Abby Alger and Nicola Karras, who helped me pull it all together. Couldn't do much of anything without a solid team. I appreciate them.
Finally, without a doubt, a big thanks to everyone that attended (and even to those who wrote me a note saying they couldn't make it but wish they could have). You're the reason why we continue to do it.
Revolution.
